Huron Hockey

Registration Policies

This Pre-Camp Information package is acknowledgement of your registration. We have made every effort to confirm your selection of the desired week.

There is no reduction in fees for late arrivals or early departures.

Huron Hockey School reserves the right to move a student if they feel their choice of Program is not within the evaluation guidelines dictated. This Program adjustment will be made with the student's best interest in mind. A qualified Huron Hockey School staff member will decide if the move is justified and his/her decision will be final.

Group composition is subject to final enrollment numbers and as such, students may have to be combined if registration totals do not warrant full program figures.

PROGRAM CANCELLATIONS
The number of openings in any Program is limited. Consequently, it is not possible for Huron Hockey School to offer an open refund policy.

NO MONIES DEPOSITED ARE REFUNDABLE IN THE EVENT OF STUDENT CANCELLATION UNLESS CANCELLATION INSURANCE HAS BEEN PURCHASED.

In the event that it is necessary to cancel for medical reasons, all monies deposited will be CREDITED towards the student's tuition fee for the following year. A 10% administrative charge, based on Program registration fee, will be assessed against all CREDITS issued.

NOTE: Credits issued after May 15th will not be processed until September 30th.

METHOD OF PAYMENT
Balance of payment is due by May 15th, or as indicated in the school specific brochure. Applications received after this date must be accompanied by the TOTAL registration fee.

NOTE: Registration payments received that are non-negotiable will be subject to a $35.00 service charge.

CURRENCY
Payment should be made in the currency of the respective school location. Americans or Europeans registering for the Canadian Programs are urged to make payment in Canadian Funds or use their Credit Card to obtain the full rate of exchange.

HOCKEY SCHOOL JERSEY
Each student receives one souvenir hockey jersey. Jerseys are provided for identification purposes only, and are not exchangeable for cash or credit. The students will receive their jersey during registration.

VISITORS
Because the Program is concentrated, it is necessary to carry on a regular program every day. Students will not be excused from instruction for visitors. However, visitors are welcome, and may observe designated school activities.

DAMAGES
Report all damages to the School Director immediately. Malicious damage to any of the facilities will result in a levy for damages, dismissal from the school, and possible referral to legal authorities.

DISCIPLINE
Discipline has not been a problem at our school. Students realize that they have come to Huron Hockey School for two main reasons:

  1. To develop as a hockey player;
  2. To have fun.
Huron Hockey School reserves the right to terminate the stay of any student for disciplinary reasons when it is deemed to be in the best interest of either the student or the school. There are no refunds for early departures. We trust that you will respect the staff, students, facilities, and accept the rules and regulations of the Program.

MEDICAL INSURANCE CONFIDENTIAL HEALTH REPORT
All parents of Huron Hockey School students registered should confirm that they have updated and adequate medical insurance coverage in effect during the week your son/daughter is attending. Verification of this coverage must be included on the medical form, in addition to other pertinent information requested.

Huron Hockey School staff members sometimes must assume the role of guardian and accompany the student to the hospital; a completed "Confidential Health Report Form" means a speedier processing of the injury and treatment application. Students cannot participate in the Huron Hockey School Program unless the enclosed "Confidential Health Report Form" is completed and signed by the parent or guardian.

Students registered for a Canadian School Location and who are a NON-CANADIAN RESIDENT, should check with their own Insurance Plan to ensure coverage. In addition, all non-Canadian students will be asked to purchase "Visitors to Canada" Insurance. This low cost insurance will guarantee you emergency medical protection during your stay at Huron Hockey School. In order to obtain a "Visitors to Canada" Liberty Health pamphlet, call 1-800-COVERME. Please complete this form and return DIRECTLY TO LIBERTY HEALTH.

CURRENT INSURANCE COVERAGE IS MANDATORY FOR FULL PROGRAM PARTICIPATION.

LUNCH
Lunch is NOT included at our day camp locations as part of the tuition fee. Students are to either bring their lunch from home, or buy food and beverages at the arena. Resident camp students will have lunch provided as part of their room and board.

NOTE TO PARENTS
Parents are invited to remain until the end of registration to meet the staff and to discuss the operation of the school. Parents are also welcome to observe all activities during the week.

FRIDAY SCRIMMAGE
On Friday, the last on-ice session will be a controlled scrimmage game for ALL STUDENTS. Parents are encouraged to attend. Goaltenders will be assigned to specific group games. Parents of goaltenders, please check with your child to find out his/her game time. Certificates and evaluations will be presented following the game.

SPENDING MONEY
During the day, the only need for spending money would be to purchase a beverage following the ice sessions. We do not want students eating junk food during the day. Therefore, spending money should be limited.

SAFE KEEPING
Although safe keeping of goods is not a major problem, loss of equipment sometimes does occur. Students are advised to:

  1. Clearly label all equipment with their names.
  2. NOT bring items of value (i.e. watches, extra money, IPODs, game boy, etc…)
NOTE: Huron Hockey School is not responsible for any loss of equipment or personal items.
